We may have missed the beach this year, but SDS/2's first ever digital conference event was a massive success, if we do say so ourselves. Going digital with SDS/2 Summit meant more users than ever before were able to tune in and attend, and our line-up of expert guest speakers shared high-value content, advanced tips and tricks, and industry insights to our users.
We revealed exciting plans for 2021 and beyond, including major updates to our user interface and user experience design and great new modeling and reporting tools.
Advanced training sessions gave users many pro tips for general use and for leveraging our Advanced Bill of Materials, which was overhauled in SDS/2 2020.
Other top sessions included “Detailing for Fabrication Efficiencies” and “Transforming You Drawing Management Workflows” with our featured partner Bluebeam.
Another highlight of the conference was the Solid Steel Competition. We were blown away by the caliber and quantity of project entries and were fortunate enough to be joined by a few of the winners during our live happy hour event.
Stay tuned for our highlight reel of finalists and winners and watch our blog throughout the year as we highlight some of the coolest projects. We had everything from a cruise terminal to a space center building, sliding sports facility, raised recreational trails, and more.
If you missed the Solid Steel Competition but have a project you’d like to feature with us, fill out our new form to send us the details! We’d love to show the world what great work our users are doing. Submit your project here >>
Although we all missed the opportunity to hang out together on a beach, many attendees expressed their appreciation of the digital format. “I wouldn’t be able to attend in person, as I am the only detailer at a fab shop,” one commenter said, “But taking time out for a webinar fits my schedule quite nicely!”
The positive feedback we received from our sessions will definitely impact future Summit events as we look to bring more valuable content, help our users learn from each other, and build a strong future together for our industry.
Here’s what a few of our attendees had to say about their experiences:
“I am a fairly new user of SDS/2 and it was nice to see some insight of more experienced individuals and receive tips and tricks from them.”
“I enjoy getting insights into other shops and firms to see how they approach the same problems we face on a daily basis.”
“Very informative and useful for developing my skills in SDS/2.”
If any users weren’t able to tune in live, they can log in to access the session recordings at sds2.com/sds2-summit/2020. And if you enjoyed the webinar format, you can always keep an eye out for our regular upcoming webinars, which we host throughout the year.
As much fun as we had this year, we’re looking forward to days ahead when we can see our users in person again. Be sure to mark your calendars for SDS/2 Summit 2021, taking place September 1-3 in St. Pete Beach, Florida!
